The American Planning Association announced Wednesday, that Main Street in Greenvile has been designated one of 10 Great Streets for 2009. It's part of the APA's Great Places in America program. Main Street was singled out of it's strategic vision to fill vacant buildings and commercial properties. The APA ranks city streets based on their effect on the local economy, entertainment, and overall character. Falls Park and Fuor Field were both mentioned as main attractions. The other nine streets across the country are in Alaska, Arkansas, Maine, Michigan, New Jersey, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
