A teenager has been charged murder after he allegedly stabbed his stepfather to death.
The 15-year old, who is not being identified due to his age, was charged with murder Thursday after he allegedly stabbed his stepfather Monday afternoon.
An incident report from the Pickens County Sheriff's Office states that deputies responded to the home on Carthage Dr. in Easley before 1:30 Monday afternoon and noticed the teenager standing outside with blood on his clothing. After entering the residence, deputies found the victim suffering from a large laceration to the neck and forearm and noticed a large knife sticking out of the victim's shoulder area.
Deputies say they contacted EMS and the victim was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he later died.
According to the incident report, the 15-year old said he and his stepfather were playing cards at the dining room table and the victim ended up going into a bedroom and then called for the teenager to come into the room. Once inside the room the victim told the teenager he was "going to kill him" and was pushed onto the ground by his stepfather. The teen stated that his stepfather came at him and he pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed him in self defense and went outside to call 911.
The teenager is currently being held at the Liberty Police Department Juvenile Facility.
