52-year old Larry Maurice Adamson of Spartanburg County, was killed around 6:30 Saturday morning, after being hit by an SUV along the busy 700 block of California Avenue.
The Highway Patrol say the fatal accident happened at the intersection of California Avenue and Houston Street.
Neighbors in the area told NewsChannel 7, Adamson was a good neighbor, who often walked California Avenue, much to the concern of neighbors.
Those that live along the road also told us, they are concerned about safety, as many cars travel fast, and there is not much of a walking lane, to protect those walking.
The HP investigation is still ongoing, and the driver of the SUV has not been charged. The HP is also unable to say yet whether or not the driver was speeding. The speed limit in the area where the accident happened was 35 miles per hour.
