Greenville Police say the accident happened about noon Tuesday. A car traveling down 291 towards Wade Hampton hit a car that had slowed at the intersection of 291 and Wade Hampton Boulevard.
The first vehicle continued into the middle of Wade Hampton where it was struck by another vehicle that was traveling down Wade Hampton. That collision was the most violent, and led to 3 people being transported to Greenville Memorial in serious condition. Two of the injured were in the first car, The third was in the car that was traveling down Wade Hampton.

Pleasantburg Road at Wade Hampton Blvd is back open after a multi-car accident late Tuesday morning. The accident happened about 1130am, and involved at least 5 vehicles. One of those vehicles wound up hitting The Clock Restaurant and the corner of Wade Hampton and Pleasantburg. Several lanes of both roads were closed while EMS and fire units worked the scene. No word on the extent of the injuries or how the accident occurred. The Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
