Second Arrest in Deadly Spartanburg Convenience Store Shooting

The Spartanburg Public Safety Department says they have made a second arrest in a deadly convenience store shooting. Dadrin Jerome Johnson was arrested in Columbia, South Carolina Tuesday afternoon. He was arrested by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

One man has been arrested and another man is sought by Spartanburg Public Safety after a man was shot and killed Friday night.

Public Safety officials say they arrested 23-year old Brandon Tanner Robbs and charged him with murder and are currently searching for 24-year old Dadrin Jerome Johnson, of Spartanburg, who has been charged with murder and breach of peace of aggravated in nature.

Shortly after 9 pm Friday night, Public Safety officers responded to a convenience store at 496 S. Church Street in Spartanburg after receiving reports of shots being fired. When they arrived on scene, they discovered 24-year old Adrian Edwards, of Spartanburg, lying face down in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Edwards was transported to Spartanburg Regional Hospital where he later died form his injuries sustained.

Betty Foster says her son turned his life around about five years ago. She says her son was shot in the back when he was 19 years old. Foster says Brandon became a better person after the first shooting. "I would want to know why why would they take some ones life? What would drive them to take someone's life?" she said.

Spartanburg Public Safety says the incident appears to be a random act of violence and Johnson fled the scene on a dark colored moped headed toward Marion Avenue and Hudson Barkdale Boulevard. Johnson is described as a black male, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing dark pants and a heavy coat with a hood that was lined with fur.

Johnson is described as armed and dangerous.
