Asheville police detectives have charged four men in the Sept. 29 shooting of a man that occurred in the area of 5 Atlanta Ave.
Police on Oct. 14 arrested Raheem Sheik Ridgeway, of Asheville. He is charged with 3 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 1 count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and 1 count of Driving While License Revoked.
Mr. Ridgeway is in the Buncombe County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
Detectives also took out warrants on 3 other men for their involvement in the shooting, in which one man was injured. The victim and a friend who was with him at the time told police that the shooting occurred after they came to West Asheville to make a drug deal.
Charged are:
Kenny Lamar Smith of Asheville, with 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and 1 count of AWDWIKISI. Smith is currently in the Buncombe County Detention Center under a $30,000 bond for drug charges filed after a search warrant related to this shooting was executed at his residence.
Darius Demond Lemont Wright of Asheville, with 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 1 count AWDWIKISI, 1 count of Second-Degree Trespass and 1 Pre-trial Release Violation. Mr. Wright is in the Buncombe County Detention center under a $32,000 bond.
Anthony LaShaun Mills of Arden, with 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and 1 count of AWDWIKISI. He is in the Buncombe County Detention Center under a $90,000 bond.
