The autopsy results have been released on the homicide.
The autopsy performed by Dr. Brett Woodard states the stab wound to her abdomen previously reported was found to be a non fatal injury.
The coroner reports an exam of the decedent at the scene on Wednesday evening found evidence which raised suspicion she may have been strangled.
The autopsy supports she died as a result of asphyxia by manual strangulation.
No other fatal injuries were found.
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office is holding its 6th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Candle Light Vigil Thursday.
The vigil begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Oconee County Law Enforcement Center.

Seneca Police are investigating a stabbing that happened early Wednesday night.
In a prepared statement, Seneca Police say they responded to 501 S. Depot Street for a stabbing report. Once on scene they found a person suffering from a stab wound.
Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis says 21-year old Wendoli Chavez was killed and it appears she had wounds consistent with a stab wound.
Officers say her husband has been taken into custody.
Her death is being called a homicide.
An autopsy is scheduled for today.
Further information will be released as the investigation continues.
