Spartanburg Christmas Parade Announced

The Spartanburg Jaycees (Spartanburg, SC) announce that the 2009 Spartanburg Christmas Parade will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in downtown Spartanburg, SC. The parade will commence at 6:30 PM.

Entrants interested in obtaining a professional float may view and register for the parade at the Spartanburg County Library, Downtown Spartanburg (Irwin Room) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on October 15, 2009. Registration packets and float information can be found on the Spartanburg Jaycees website at www.spartanburgjaycees.org. Additional inquiries can be made by contacting the Christmas Parade Hotline at (864) 208-2669

The parade route will remain the same as the 2008 Christmas Parade. The parade will start at the corner of Henry and Pine Streets. It will proceed up Pine Street to Main Street, proceed west on Main Street to Church Street and then North on Church street to finish up before the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.

The Spartanburg Jaycees are the premier young person’s leadership training organization. The Spartanburg Jaycees are open to all young adults ages twenty-one to forty. The Jaycees participate in many worthwhile community service projects throughout the year for the purpose of making our members better citizens and our community a better place. Spartanburg Public Safety will perform a “rolling closing” of the parade route. Side Streets between the main intersections listed above will be closed in order. The above times should be used to estimate side street closings.
