HARTWELL — Sheriff Mike Cleveland said Friday that two men have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 52-year-old Hart County man during a home invasion.
Rodtravis Donta Brewer, 22, of 740 S. Forest Ave. Hartwell, and Rexdriquez Cortez Hart, 17, of 169 King Drive, Hartwell, have been both been charged with murder and two counts of aggravated assault.
Investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation along with the Hart County Sheriff’s Office worked the case that began at about 9 p.m. Wednesday. The dead man has been identified as Joe Harland, 52, of 244 Landfill Road in Hart County.
The Hart County sheriff said Harland was not the only person in the house at the time of the incident. An unidentified elderly man and a woman were also in the house, but have not been identified.
Cleveland said it appears the shooting was the result of a home invasion.
