The three day search for a couple wanted for abducting their 10 month old child from Henderson County is over.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office says that Henry Wayne Hollenbeck and Cathy Regina Hollenbeck were arrested in Wyoming, and their 10-month old daughter, Arizona, was found safe.
"I am very grateful for this outcome," said Henderson County Sheriff Rick Davis. "This was some truly superb detective work on the part of our Criminal Investigations Division, and as always, the North Carolina SBI pulled out all the stops to assist us from this end."
Authorities had been searching for the couple and child since Saturday when they say the Hollenbeck's had not been in touch with the Department of Soicial Services since October 10. The baby had been placed into DSS custody in January, and then in May was placed back in the parents home on a trial basis. Investigators discovered that the Hollenbeck's had been evicted from their last known address and had fled the area and made every attempt to conceal their whereabouts.
Davis said authorities suspected that the Hollenbeck's may have fled to Wyoming.
"We are also pleased with the prompt and professional service we received from the Cheyenne, Wyoming Police Department, who took them into custody," Davis said. "They were able to put our minds at ease regarding the health and welfare of the baby. Our team was very impressed with their enthusiatic response to our request for assistance."
The Hollenbeck's have been charged with child neglect in the past. Arrest warrants for felony child abduction were issued for the couple.
