Deputies says the body of a young woman found on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Buncombe County is 21 year old Misty Carter from Mountain Home in Henderson County.
The sheriff's office says there are currently investigating several leads, but do not have a suspect. They identified Carter from a tattoo on her body.
The sheriff says the woman's death is a homicide and the 1st of the year for the county. They say Carter was also pregnant.
Sheriff Van Duncan says Carter was not reported missing before being found.
A passing driver noticed what he says was a naked body on the side of the road on the parkway early Monday morning. The exact location; the 395 mile post He called 911.
