A Blacksburg man was shot and killed and two people are in custody after the incident early Wednesday morning.
Rickey Allen Dixon, 52, of East Lime Street in Blacksburg died in the shooting according to Cherokee County Coroner Dennis Fowler.
Fowler says police were called to the home at 2:41 a.m. by a man who told 911 he had shot Dixon.
"A suspect and a witness were taken into custody at the scene by Blacksburg police upon their arrival," Fowler said in a written release.
The coroner pronounced Dixon dead at the scene and has ordered an autopsy on his remains.
Chief Ramey Hamm says Dixon, his wife and her brother all live together. They say Dixon and his wife got into a domestic dispute and the brother shot Dixon wigh a handgun and called 911.
The brother has been arrested and charged with murder.
