Four years after the death of a man, Spartanburg County authorities have charged a second man in connection with his murder.

According to our coverage partners at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, 29-year old Michael Marion Arnold, of Spartanburg, was charged with murder in the 2005 death of Abdul Haleem Ali II. Deputies served Arnold, who has been in jail for the past year on a home detention violation, on Thursday with murder warrants.

The Herald-Journal reports that Arnold is the second person who has been arrested and charged with Ali's death.

Two years ago, Steven Lamar Hoey was charged with murder and a third suspect, 29-year old Roosevelt Ross, who is serving time at the Lieber Correctional Institute in Ridgeville, will be served next week. Ross is currently in prison on an unrelated assault and battery with intent-to-kill conviction from Charleston.

nvestigators told the Herald-Journal that DNA from blood found in Ali's apartment led to the arrest. Ali was found shot five times and his car, a royal-blue Chevrolet Caprice, was found to be stolen. Ali managed to run to a nearby convenience store for help, but died soon after. More than one weapon was used in the shooting, police have said.

The Herald-Journal reports that Hoey is scheduled for a court appearance Monday. Prosecutors will ask for a continuance in light of the new charges, Assistant Solicitor Ryan McCarty said.

Prosecutors hope to try all three individuals at the same time.
