The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office has released the cause of death of Misty Carter. They say the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Update 10/23/2009 5:00 pm
The woman found dead along the Blue Ridge Parkway was six weeks pregnant and engaged.

The search continues for her killer.

Deputies say 21-year-old Misty Carter's body was found naked near mile marker 395 in Buncombe County early Monday morning.

Results from an autopsy preformed on Carter's body Wednesday have not been released.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office confirms to News Channel 7 that Carter was six weeks pregnant when she was killed.

One of her best friends says all Misty ever wanted was to have a baby and she says things were finally going Misty's way because not only was she pregnant, she was also going to get married.
Her father, Bill Carter, told The Asheville Citizen-Times -- he last spoke to his daughter when she called to tell him the baby news. Carter's boyfriend, Jermaine Glover, said the two had been dating for five months. Glover said Carter told him last week she was pregnant. But he said he didn't learn that he was not the father of the child until Tuesday when Misty's sister told him.
The memorial for Misty Carter will be held Friday night from 6:00 p.m. to nine p.m. at the Crown Plaza on Resort Drive in Asheville. A memorial service will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel in the Pines of Jackson Funeral Service in Hendersonville. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the chapel.

Investigators have not said whether or not they have any suspects in this homicide. If you have any information, you are asked to call the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office at 828-255-5555.
