Michael Jackson's "This Is It" film premiere's early Wednesday morning in the Upstate. The movie's promoters say the movie features rare behind-the-scenes footage of the King of Pop's last rehearsals as he prepared for sold out concerts in London.
Michael Jackson's musical director had an interesting challenge in putting together Jackson's London concerts. He had to pack in all of Jackson's hits without making the concert too long. Michael Bearden says that meant cutting the length on some songs so they were included but the audience didn't feel cheated. He says he and Jackson would engage in "creative jousting" over that, and Jackson would say things like, "Ooo, don't take that away. Oh, that's going to hurt the girls!"
The footage of Jackson's rehearsals for the concerts are the basis of the film "This Is It," which premieres worldwide tonight at 9 p.m Eastern but will be seen in midnight showings in Upstate theaters.
