**Monday 11:15am Update**
Daniel Edge, 30, of Greenville was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor as part of a protest over the new weekend curfew in downtown Greenville.
An arrest warrant states Edge attached handbills to city statues and solicited people to protest the municipal curfew. Edge did comply with police and removed the signs according to the warrant, but was encouraging minors to stay and protest at 10:20pm on South Main Street.
That would be 20 minutes after the new curfew. The ordinance prohibits individuals 17 years of age and under from congregating, loitering or passing through the central business district between 10:00pm and 6:00am unless they are with a parent or guardian.
The Greenville Police incident report says Edge told officers he would gather teens after the curfew to protest and he was advised he could be arrested.
Police say Edge and three people - all under the age of 18 - were in the area of Court Square. Two of the three teenagers left the area, but a third went to Edge and began talking to him. A second teenager returned to ask about his friend and he was also arrested.
Edge was the taken into custody on the delinquency of a minor charge because he “organized the protest for juveniles to ‘sit-in’ at Court Square in defiance of the curfew” according to the incident report.
Edge is not listed as being held at the Greenville County Detention Center Monday morning.

On Saturday night Greenville Police arrested a man accused of contributing to the delinquency of minors during a protest of the new downtown curfew.
The new curfew started Friday after police say many teens gathered there last Saturday night and started fights. More than 30 officers patrolled downtown on Saturday night to check for minors.
News Channel 7's camera was the only one there was police arrested protest organizer Dan Edge. They say he asked the underage teens to protest the new curfew on the grounds it violates their freedom.
Between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. no one under 17 is allowed downtown without a parent. Police say they took two teens into custody who refused to go home.
An 18-year-old who was downtown spoke to News Channel 7 about the changes. "Honestly I think its pretty ridiculous because you know I want to come downtown and have a good time with her and enjoy falls park", said Jacob Carroll.
