A sheriff's deputy was involved in an accident early Monday morning on his way to a shooting scene in Greenville County. Two people are now facing charges as authorities continue their search for the shooter.
The sheriff's office told News Channel 7, the deputy turned onto East Gantt Street from Augusta Road just before 1:00 a.m. when an SUV side-swiped his patrol car
The SUV ended up in an embankment. The sheriff's deputy was not injured. Officers went to a home where the shooting was reported nearby and found bullet holes and narcotics.
Invesetigators said bullet holes were in one vehicle on East Gantt Street where they believe the gunshots came from.
Deputies made two arrests in the shooting. The occupants of the SUV were taken to Greenville Hospital System to be treated. The highway patrol continues to investigate the crash.
