The Clemson University Extension Office was broken into on Monday, which has been a growing crime problem according to Union Public Safety.

The break-in was reported at the office on Kirby Street in Union Tuesday morning after an employee arrived at the office.

Four other breaking and entering cases were also reported to the media Tuesday morning by Union Public Safety.

The Clemson University employee said the front door glass to the office had been broken out as was a door that led into the office. Investigators believe intruders entered the building after smashing a sliding glass door with a cement block.

Two digital cameras and a laptop computer were reported missing.

Blood samples were taken from the Clemson Extension office and one other crime scene.

Union Public Safety also reported similar crimes at In and Out Oil Change on Rice Avenue, Citi Financial, The Pool Place and Carolina Floor Covering. Those three businesses are located on North Duncan Bypass.
