**Update 11:32 a.m. **
The North Carolina Highway Patrol says traffic should be moving through both lanes of Interstate 40 in Haywood County after a tractor-trailer crashed early Tuesday at the 7 mile marker. the accident closed the right lane of the highway.
**Update 7:45 a.m.**
The NC Highway Patrol says the right lane is closed on I-40 west bound at the 7 mile marker. The Highway Patrol says the workers are cleaning up the area. There is no estimate when the road will be fully opened. The HP says that traffic is flowing through the area but is obviously slowed down.
Part of Interstate 40 is blocked Tuesday morning in Western North Carolina. The state Department of Transportation tells News Channel 7, a tractor-trailer overturned in Haywood County traveling westbound between mile markers 7 and 6.
That section of Interstate 40 is near Lake Junaluska and U.S. Highway 276. One of two lanes is closed so drivers can expect some backups for drivers throughout the morning.
