Spartanburg Police Find Missing Woman Downtown

Spartanburg Public Safety has found Hazel E. Pittman. she was reported missing Friday and was found Tuesday night in downtown Spartanburg.

**Wednesday Morning Update**

Spartanburg Public Safety says Hazel E. Pittman was found safe Tuesday night in downtown Spartanburg.

Captain Randy Hardy says one of their officers was driving home after working second shift Tuesday when he spotted Pittman walking on Kennedy Street towards Church street at Renato’s restaurant.

Hardy says this is where the missing woman was last seen. The officer asked the woman who she was and she replied her name was "Ms. Smith." Police were able to determine the woman was Hazel Pittman and took her to a hospital.

Captain Hardy said she is doing well.

Spartanburg Public Safety needs your help in locating a 43 year old female reported missing.

Hazel E. Pittman was reported missing by a caregiver who last saw her in downtown Spartanburg in front of the Spartanburg County Library at approximately 6pm Friday evening. The caregiver had a brief conversation with Miss Pittman, in which Miss Pittman stated that she was going to walk home in order to get some exercise. Miss Pittman is described by the caregiver as having several medical conditions such as schizophrenic, diabetes, and a history of seizures.

Pittman has no relatives in the Spartanburg area; she is a black female, 5'5'', 230 pounds. Miss Pittman was last seen wearing black pants and a dark blue jacket with a small purse over her shoulder and black shoes.

Anyone with information regarding the location of Hazel E. Pittman should contact the Spartanburg Public Safety Department at 596-2035 or may give information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 58-CRIME or Text TIP649 with your tip to CRIMES (274637).
