A Haywood County Health Department Flu Clinic scheduled to run until 7 p.m. Thursday, will close early due to a shortage of vaccine.
Officials say since 8 a.m. Wednesday, the health department has administered more than 2,300 of 2,500 doses received of the vaccine. The health department has ordered 5,000 doses of the vaccine, but only half has been received so far, according to Health Director Carmine Rocco.
A flu clinic scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1 is expected to go on as planned. The clinic will be held from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Haywood County Health Department, located at 2177 Asheville Rd. in Waynesville.
