The historic Newberry Opera House will be the scene of the First in the State GOP Gubernatorial Debate Tuesday night.

The Laurens and Newberry County Republican Parties say all five announced or likely GOP gubernatorial candidates have committed to attend and will participate according to the Laurens and Newberry County Republican Parties.

The five contenders include Congressman Gresham Barrett, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, state Sen. Larry Grooms, state Rep. Nikki Haley, and Attorney General Henry McMaster.

Viewers can submit YouTube video questions in advance of the debate at the Newberry County Republican Party website.

The debate will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be moderated by WIS-TV anchor Judi Gatson.
