Although the rain has stopped, there is still dangerous flooding in Western North Carolina.
A car driver in Etowah, NC tried to drive across a flooded portion of Banner Farm Road. She wasn’t able to make it to the other side. She had to be saved from the flooding waters by Etowah Fire Fighters.
Although there were signs along the road telling drivers not to drive through the flood waters, Etowah Fire Chief Jamey Gash says she claims not to have seen the signs.
Even though everyone was ok this time, Chief Gash is warning people not to drive through the water, even if they think they know the road.
As an incentive not to go through the flooded roadways, Chief Gash says over the past couple of days highway patrol troopers and sheriff's deputies have been ticketing motorists trying to drive through the rising water.
