The Spartanburg Fire Marshal is investigating 2 separate arson fires in the City of Spartanburg. The first occurred at a duplex on Thompson Street about 11pm Tuesday night. A police report states the fire in Apartment A had two points of origin: the living room and a closet. The report also states there were two burners left on in the kitchen with a can of WD 40 near the stove. Seven people are without a home because of the fire.
The second fire happened about 830am Wednesday morning. This fire happened at a home on Farley Street. Investigators say eveidence at the scene pointed to the fire being deliberately set.
