Samuel Calhoun was taken into custody Wednesday morning after an apparent chase that led to a water rescue.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol and Anderson County Sheriff's Deputies blocked SC-24 for an hour between Highway 187 and Interstate 85 beginning at 11:30 p.m Tuesday.
News Channel 7 got exclusive video of the car chase suspect in a rescue boat on Lake Hartwell.
Authorities found him around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday clinging to an overpass pillar.
They believe Calhoun tried to escape officers by ditching the car and jumping into the water.
Troopers say Calhoun was speeding and wouldn't stop.
He is now being held in the Anderson County Detention Center.
