»  Comments | Post a Comment

A burglary suspect is celebrating his birthday in jail today after Greenville Police charged Aaron Leonard Jones, 49, for a Sunday night or early Monday morning burglary at a gas station on Laurens Road.

The report states that an employee at the convenience store came into work early Monday morning and noticed that the business had been burglarized.

Deputies and the employee reviewed the surveillance video and observed a black male and white female pull up to the door of convenience store in a black or gray Chevrolet S-10 truck. The video shows the male suspect exiting the truck and taking a tire iron and hitting the store's door and causing the glass to shatter before entering the business.

According to Police, the man entered the business and removed 33 packs of Newport cigarettes.

Several people recognized Jones as the suspect in the video and called police, according to the Greenville PD.

A county deputy spotted Jones’ truck on I-85 last night and police arrested him.
