So much of your money is going down the drain, which is ok, if you like wasting your hard earned money! But for those who like great deals, here are seven things that should not cost you a dime.
1). Filing your taxes.
Greg Burgess with Compass of Carolina said paid tax preparers will do the same job that you can do for free.
He says all you have to do is google free tax filing and that's hundreds of dollars saved.
2). Exercising
Burgess says, "There's just so many things you can do without either buying expensive gym memberships. Exercise therapists will tell you, you can get just as much exercise using barbells or walking.
3). Budgeting tools
Burgess says people spend hundreds of dollars trying to get their finances in order.
Going to a non profit counseling service, or even clicking on the budget tools while you're banking online will help you curb your spending, at no cost.
4). Cell Phones
Although the service will cost, Burgess says, major carriers may give you a phone with a two year contract.
5). Annual Fees (credit cards)
Experts say credit companies are constantly competing for your business, which could leave you free of that annual fee.
6). Credit Report.
Burgess says the basic way to get a free credit report is through www.annualcreditreport.com
Although it won't include your score, this website entitles everyone a free copy, once a year.
7). DVD Rentals
Your local library rents DVD movies for free. It will only cost you a little time to apply for a library card.
