GREENVILLE, SC - South Carolina Department of Transportation will have a skeleton crew on staff overnight on Sunday. SCDOT workers will return to work at 7am Monday morning.
Sunday, crews began clearing secondary roads in Spartanburg County and Greenville County. Crews worry water and slush left on the roads will freeze.
"Where there is water, with the temperatures dropping at night, it will freeze again," David McCall with SCDOT Greenville said.
McCall says they will look for icy matches on roads Monday morning.
They will also return to areas where trees fell across roads.
Ice and snow, combined with wind, knocked many trees down in Northern Greenville County.
