GREER, S.C. - Allegiant Air announced Monday they are beginning nonstop service from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport to Orlando International Airport with fares as low as $39.99.
Allegiant formerly flew passengers from GSP to Sanford International Airport, which is a considerably longer distance from the downtown Orlando area.
"We believe this service will provide our customers with convenient access to the popular theme parks and attractions in the Orlando area," said Maurice J. Gallagher Jr., Allegiant Travel Company CEO, in a written statement.
The low-cost carrier is also offering a free night hotel stay at the airlines' preferred hotels.
The flights operate four times weekly between GSP International and Orlando International Airport with service Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
For a limited time, travelers can book an air and hotel package with a free fourth night of hotel at select Allegiant hotels. To take advantage of the introductory $39.99, air fare must be booked by Feb. 24, 2010 with complete travel by Sept. 30, 2010. Reservations can be made on the airline's website or through the airline's Reservations and Information Center at 702-505-8888.
