TRAVELERS REST, SC - Travelers Rest Police arrested a man who they say had more than three pounds of cocaine and other drugs during a traffic stop.
Tristan Spain McDaniel was arrested on February 5 after a traffic stop on Highway 25. The police officer's K-9 partner "Baron" was alerted to narcotics in the vehicle according to Chief Lance G. Crowe.
Police say they found 3.5 pounds of powdered cocaine and two crack cocaine "cookies" that each weighed at least 55.9 grams.
McDaniel was charged with trafficking in cocaine 400 grams or more, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within half a mile of a school, possession with intent to distribute cocaine within half a mile of a school and trafficking in crack cocaine 100 grams or more.
McDaniel is being held at the Greenville county Detention Center on a $140,000 surety bond.
