Seven resumes were submitted to Gov. Mark Sanford’s office Tuesday morning to fill the seat for a new Spartanburg County Clerk of Court.

Marc Kitchens resigned early in Feb. after being arrested by federal authorities.

Investigators say he took drugs from a courthouse evidence room and worked with businessman Terry Landford to sell them.

12 of the 13 members of the Spartanburg County legislative delegation presented Sanford with the names Tuesday. Sen. Glenn Reese was not present but sent his proxy. The delegation voted on 7 names to give the governor, out of about 60 resumes received.

The 7:

1. Robert W. Mitchell, Jr. 11 votes

2. David J. Turner 11 votes

3. George N. Harakas, II, 10 votes

4. Georgia V. Anderson, 9 votes

5. Meredith Hope Blackley, 6 votes

6. Mary Speed Lynch, 5 votes

7. Michael D. Morin, 4 votes
