GREENVILLE, S.C. - Around 300 area churches had cancellations Sunday in the Upstate.
The fear was ice and black ice. Although the main roads were clear Sunday morning, patches of black ice remained. Some of the side roads were nothing but ice.
A couple of people who ventured out had some problems with the roads, like Thomas Miller of Greenville who says he hit a patch of black ice and took out a stop sign.
“It just spun me. I mean I tried to control it, but obviously I didn't… This is the only car I got and I’m like what's going on here? I'm just thankful to be alive,” says Thomas.
Although the majority of churches cancelled services, there were those, like New Spring Church, that held services.
