The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office says a cow on a farm in Greer, was shot, and had to be put down early Tuesday morning.
A police report says an officer was called out to Poinsett Street Ext. for a report of someone shooting a calf owned by family living there.
He told police he heard four gunshots around 4:30am.
When he went into his pasture to see what happened, he noticed one of his cows laying on the ground. When he looked closer, he found it had been shot in it's left side near the spine and near the ribs.
Police say Jennifer Greene, a suspect in this case, is accused of making threats to shoot a woman while she was milking cows on the farm.
Officials say the woman who was threatened was on the farm while the calf was shot, but not in that exact area.
Witnesses say the only car in the area during the shooting was a white SUV.
The responding officer says the cow was alive when he got there, but a veterinarian was later forced to put the animal down.
Investigators say one of the bullets removed from the cow was a small caliber bullet, and has been entered into evidence.
