Greenville Police are searching for a "peeping tom". Investigators say three reports were filed Monday, May 31, and they believe the same man is responsible for all of the cases. All three incidents happened between 11:09 p.m. and 11:33 p.m.
The first incident was at Haywood Pointe apartments on 1175 Haywood Road at 11:09 p.m. A 25-year-old woman reports she was laying on the couch in her living room watching TV when she noticed the dark outline of a face looking at her through the vertical blinds on her sliding glass door. The blinds were closed but not functioning properly leaving a gap in the slats. The victim stated that she screamed loudly for her roommate and that is when the face disappeared. The victim's apartment is on the ground level. She was unable to provide a description.
The second report was also at Haywood Point apartments at 11:30 p.m. A 20-year-old woman said she saw someone looking through her bedroom window. A man in the apartment went out the front door and saw the suspect running out from behind the building. The man chased the suspect through the parking lot towards the entrance to the apartment complex. He described the suspect as a tall, skinny, black male wearing a white t-shirt and possibly khaki shorts. The man said he could not keep up with the suspect and that he returned to his apartment. The woman says she was laying on the bed watching TV and when the TV dimmed she noticed a figure looking through the blinds of her bedroom. That is when she screamed for her husband, telling him someone was at the window. That apartment is also on the ground level.
The final report happened at11:33 p.m. at Rosemont Apartments on 49 Orchard Park Drive. A 27-year-old woman says she was watching TV in her living room and she saw the shadow of a person appear on the wall over her TV. She turned towards the sliding glass doors leading her to the back patio and saw a man standing there. The man then ran. She was unable to give a description other than the subject was very tall. She stated that this was the third time this year that this had occurred. The first time was in mid-January and the second time was last week. She did not report the first two incidents to police but did report them to the apartment complex management.
