**UPDATED AT 1:20 ON JUNE 4TH **: South Carolina investigators say they found more than 20 guns in the home of a white man accused of shooting and killing a black man and then dragging his body 10 miles down country roads.
The State newspaper reported authorities found 20 or more assault-type weapons, numerous pistols, at least one shotgun, ammunition and knives in the home of 19-year-old Gregory Collins of Newberry.
June 3: The family of a man shot to death and then dragged for miles behind a pickup truck spoke to News Channel 7’s Elizabeth Owens.
A passing motorist noticed the victim’s body on the side of a Newberry County road Wednesday morning.
Investigators had to use fingerprints to identify the man.
Investigators said a trail of evidence lead them to a mobile home on Orchard Park Trail.
After a three hour stand off with a man inside the home they made an arrest.
Sheriff foster said it is one of the most brutal and horrific homicides he's ever investigated.
Investigators say said Gregory Collins, 19, shot his friend and coworker in the head.
They say he tied up 30-year-old Anthony Hills body to a pickup truck with a nylon rope.
Investigators say the teen then dragged Hills’ body for more than 10 miles before the rope snapped.
A passing motorist saw the body and called 911.
Investigators still do not have a motive. They're looking into all avenues including whether a love triangle came into play or if this was a hate crime.
The victim’s family says all they want is answers.
Sled, the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office are investigating to determine whether or not this crime meets the criteria of a hate crime.
Collins had a first appearance in court this morning where a judge read him his rights.
He will see a circuit judge next for a bond hearing.
