Several members of a black group say federal officials need to take over the investigation of a South Carolina black man authorities think was killed by a white friend, then dragged behind his truck.
Multiple media outlets reported several members of the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense came to Newberry on Thursday to demand more information in the death of 30-year-old Anthony Hill.
Police say Hill was shot in the head by 19-year-old Gregory Collins, who then drug Hill's body behind a pickup truck for more than 10 miles last week.
Newberry County Sheriff Lee Foster says federal and state officials are helping his deputies decide if the killing is a hate crime or there was a different motive.
