A hostage situation unfolded as SLED agents rushed to the scene.
In the end--7 men and women were taken into custody--in what agents say is part of a growing drug trade in the Upstate.
This all unfolded on Sulfar Springs drive in Berea Wednesday afternoon.
News Channel 7 was the only news crew at the scene.
Agents handcuffed the 7, which included those held hostage, and took them to the LEC in Greenville, where agents will determine who may face charges. Not all are expected to be charged.
The director of SLED tells us they got word this morning that three people were being held inside the home.
SLED isn't able to say how they were alerted to the hostage situation.
When swat team members and agents got there--a standoff ensued until the suspects inside surrendered.
SLED believes those in the house today are part of a larger drug trade, that the agency has been investigating. SLED says the I 85 cooridor is a major route for drugs.
Weapons were also found inside the home.
No one was hurt.
