Brian Sturgeon, the suspect in the 2007 killing of Jandie Finley, was found guilty by a jury Tuesday of manslaughter and kidnapping in the case.
Sturgeon was sentenced to 45 years in prison.
Sturgeon took the stand earlier in the trial and told the court he was acting in self defense when Finley was killed in Dec. 2007.
Investigators in the case said Sturgeon shot Finley and drove around with her body in a rental car. Sturgeon’s attorney said his client gave the location of the body to investigators later so her family could have the remains back.
Sturgeon also faces a murder charge in the death of a Kentucky woman 14 years ago.
