The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a woman who is wanted for nearly a dozen forgery crimes.
Candy Marie King, 40, of Greenville is wanted for 11 separate counts of forgery with value less than $5,000.
Investigators say King obtained the routing number and account number to the Greenville County Family Court Child Support account. The GCSO says she manufactured illegal documents – that resembled checks – between February 22 and March 5.
We’re told King wrote checks to herself and cashed them at area businesses. The total amount of money obtained wasn’t included, but investigators say it was noticed after an internal audit of the Family Court account.
Three charges against King are related to this case, but she faces eight more forgery charges dating back to last September.
The GCSO says King obtained checks from people she knew and made them payable to herself. She cashed them at area businesses as well according to the report.
King is described as 5’2” to 5’4” and weighs 140 to 160 pounds.
Anyone with information on where she can be found is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 23-CRIME.
