Anderson University student Julie George was charged with felony DUI involving death Tuesday following an early Friday morning fatal accident on Liberty Highway near Anderson.
Greg Shore, Anderson County Coroner, said that George’s blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit when the accident happened.
Troy Smith, 36, the other driver in the accident, died at the scene.
George was treated for injuries at AnMed.
Smith’s fiancé was the passenger in his car, but received only minor injuries.
