Witnesses Chase Suspect In Gaffney Robbery

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Spartanburg Chief Deputy said Tracy Rice was arrested and charged with robbery after bloodhounds found him in a field following a chase Tuesday.

At about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, a man came into the Moss Mini Mart on Highway 18 in Gaffney and snatched money out of the register, Chief Deputy Joel Hill said.

The suspect fled in a Lincoln Towncar followed by witnesses who called in a description of the car, Hill said.

Deputies followed the suspect who turned right on Dawkins Road and wrecked the car.

Hill said bloodhounds were brought in who tracked the suspect “a good distance.”

Hill said Rice, 42, of 119 Boot Hill Court, was found in a field and arrested.

Rice is charged with strong-arm robbery and will be served with outstanding warrants for four counts of forgery and three counts of fraudulent check.
