Greenville County Coroner Mike Ellis said identification has been made on skeletal reamins found in Greenville County.
Ellis said the remains are those of James Junior Robinson, 52, of 125A Kondrus Circle. He was last seen Sept. 2006.
A forensic anthropologist from Clemson University helped the coroner's office identify the victim.
Investigators made the match by pulling X-rays from missing persons reports.
They said the skeleton had past injuries as unique as a fingerprint.
Robinson lived with his sister at that last known address, and she was the one who reported him missing. Unfortunately, she won't know what happened to her brother because she passed away from cancer in Feb. 2009.
The victim's brother was thankful for the hunter who found him.
"He answered a lot of questions that we've spent a long time thinking about, so whoever it is, I'd like to thank him," said Timothy Robinson.
The remains were found scattered in an area across from 102 Kondros Circle in Greenville Saturday by a hunter just before 4 p.m.
The cause of death is still unknown.
