A group of 20-30 people wrecked havoc on downtown Asheville late Saturday night, according to Asheville City Police.
Police say that the group, which was reportedly wearing dark clothing, masks and face coverings, damaged at least eight vehicles and five businesses in the Battery Park area of the city. Officers and K-9 units were dispatched to the area, shortly before 11 pm and eleven people were transported to the Buncombe County Detention Center.
In a press release, the Police Department states that 112 warrants have been issued for damage to property and further charges are pending.
Identities of the suspects have yet to be released. They are scheduled to be in court at 9:30 am Monday for an initial appearance.
