The Greenville County Sheriff's Office has charged Jason Alan Purcell with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Joseph M. Collura.
Collura was involved in an altercation with bouncers inside Platinum Plus March 25, 2010.
Investigators say Purcell, a bouncer, was carrying the victim with his arm wrapped around the victim's neck, as he threw Collura out of the adult nightclub, after a dispute over an ID.
The autopsy found Collura died of asphyxia due to compression of the neck. Purcell was the only employee charged in connection with this incident as he was found to be the only person to compress Collura's neck.
Purcell was denied bond at his bond hearing Thursday night.
The family of Mr. Collura attended the hearing, telling us, they are devestated over the death.
Collura leaves behind a wife and two young children.
Involuntary manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison.
