Democratic candidate for Senate Alvin Greene saw his longshot campaign come to a close Tuesday night. Although he gained an impressive number of votes, he fell short of defeating Senator Jim Demint.
He made a bizarre post-campaign appearance in Manning. 200 people were expected for his campaign party, but only about 2 people showed up, along with Greene and his family.
News Channel 7's Jonathan Carlson was the only Upstate reporter there and attempted to speak with Greene in a sometimes odd interview.
As he entered the catering hall, Greene was asked if he would run again. He replied, "I don’t know."
When asked if he agreed with some people's perception that his campaign was a "joke", he replied, "no, no, no."
When asked if he called Senator Demint to concede the race, he moaned, "nooooooo...." and ran off.
Greene proceeded to run around in circles in the hall's main room, as reporters followed him asking questions.
At times, his focus was more on the finger foods on the table, as opposed to the election results.
Greene then presented the reporters present, with a comic book he printed of himself, in which he called himself a "warrior". A warrior, that will save you and your home.
You can watch the exchange in the video box above.
