Anderson County Sheriff's Office has nearly concluded an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred inside a business Tuesday.
Details on Shooting According to Anderson County Sheriff's Office:
Tuesday morning at 6:57 am, an Anderson County deputy was flagged down by a man on Delaware Road near the intersection of Commerce Blvd.
The deputy was told a shooting had just occurred. The deputy responded to the business located at 115 Commerce Blvd. Anderson, and found that two men had been shot.
Both men who had apparent injuries were transported to ANMED and were treated for gunshot related wounds.
One man suffered a gunshot wound to the hand, the other male identified as Jermaine Lacroy Scott, later died from his gunshot related injuries according to an autopsy.
Through the investigation, deputies say Jermaine Scott, and five others were involved in an active poker card game at the Commerce Boulevard business.
Deputies say in an attempt to recover lost money and to rob the other players of the game, Scott pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the other players.
One of the other players, who possessed a concealed weapon permit and a handgun, also drew his weapon in self-defense.
Gunfire was exchanged between Scott and the other male which resulted in Scott being struck by several times by bullets.
Another man was struck in the hand by one of the bullets.
In conjunction with the 10th Circuit Solicitor's Office it was determined that no criminal charges of any kind will be pursued at this time.
