Police Officer Turns Self In, Charged With Assault

IVA, SC --

An Iva police officer turns himself in to the Anderson County Sheriff's office Monday afternoon.

Chad McBride with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a reported assault incident that occured on Gray Circle in Iva, on Sunday, November 7th.

McBride says as result of the investigation, former Iva Police Officer Curtis Brickle turned himself in for his involvment in the assault, which left two people hurt.

Brickle is charged with two counts of Assault and Battery, 2nd Degree.

After Brickle turned himself in, he was transported to the Anderson County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
