Highest Number of Speed Traps for SC

Greenville

»  Comments | Post a Comment

If you put the pedal to the metal, you may want to pump the brakes when driving around Greenville.

The National Motorists Association recently tagged the area "highest in speed traps" for the state.

Driver, Jerry Bird says, "I think it's a good thing, keep people safe."

Driver Jason Issa says he doesn't consider calling them speed traps. "They're not hiding, you know, you could spot them if you look for them."

Gary Biller with NMA says drivers from all over post speed traps in their area to the organization's website.

He says they've taken that information accumulated over the years and broke it down on a state by state basis.  Greenville, he says, won by a landslide.

Biller says, "It's not so much that we're coming from a standpoint that people should be breaking the speeding limit, but basically we should look at the limits themselves and are they properly set."
