Sunday people got the chance to protect themselves from identity theft by shredding their personal information.
Shred-it employees rolled out their mobile shredders. Each person got to safely destroy up to three boxes for free. John Stewart, a regional manager for Shred-it says nearly 25 million Americans become victims of consumer fraud each year.
Shredding your personal documents is a good step toward making sure you don’t become part of that statistic. If you missed out on today’s event the upstate BBB is hosting a secure your ID Day on October 23ed. It will take place from 10 AM through 2 PM at the BBB office in Greenville on Church Street and at the Anderson Mall Office Depot in Spartanburg on W-O Ezell Boulevard.
