Church Secretary Arrested

Boiling Springs, SC

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A trusted member of a local church is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the churches account.  She's asking for forgiveness and members say they would welcome her back with open arms.

48 year old Crystal Faulk was the secretary for Mountain View Baptist Church in Boiling Springs.  She was charged with breach of trust.

Senior Head Pastor, Tyler Kirby, says Faulk was using the church's credit card for personal use...around 68-thousand dollars over the span of nearly five years.

Fellow church members say they forgive her and hopes she'll continue to fellowship with them.

Faulk tells News Channel 7 this is her first stint with the law and she's very ashamed of what she's done.  "I just want to say that i'm sorry and I made bad choices and bad decisions.  And I'd like for them to forgive me.  I know God has forgiven me."

Faulk says she doesn't have an attorney at this time, but she's hoping to get things back to normal.  As of now, she says, she's having a hard time forgiving herself.
